A specialized method performing is "laparoscopic" or "minimally invasive" surgery. This method was frequently applied for gallbladder surgery and gynecologic procedures. And the usage of this approach in intestinal surgery has increased during the past ten years. A single incision is made to access the abdomen during traditional "open" surgery. Multiple 0.5–1 cm incision is made during laparoscopic surgery. Each cut is referred to as a "port." During the process, specialized tools and a camera known as laparoscope are passed via the trocars. Images from the abdominal cavity are transmitted by the laparoscope to high-definition television displays in the operating room with the help of which the rest is carried out with minimal pain and efficient result.
